Eight hours, then Da Lat
After a long eight hours on the road from Saigon, punctuated by coffee and lunch stops, we finally arrived in beautiful Da Lat. Seasonal dummy in Crescent Mall
This clothes dummy was spied in the window of a fashion shop in The Crescent Mall, District 7. I am surprised they used the words “Chinese New Year”, rather than “Lunar New Year”, given how Vietnamese feel about China. I was also a little creeped out about the use of that head in this context. Choeung Ek killing fields, Cambodia
The killing fields are one of three must-see sites in Cambodia, the others being Toul Sleng (S21) prison and of course, Angkor Wat. Got to say im loving the WolfMother stuff. OK so it boarders on “boy music” for me ,but im finding it somewhat addictive….never thought id say that.lol. Hey question….. Even though Halloween is such an American thing–do they celebrate it in Vietnam? Do some dress up? Im assuming it would be the younger people. Ok i wasnt going as a witch but hey i modified it this year. I went as Funky Witch…stripey stockings,pointy boots…instead of traditional witch(long black dress).Had a great night. Read that you got to work long hours…..not good,get some serious rest when you can. Cheers.

Yep, they do celebrate Halloween here. My schools both held events, and all the nightclubs were full with people in masks, glowing red devil horns and other costumes. It is generally only young people who do anything here, but HCMC is a city primarily populated by young people it seems.
